Ascendance is a global youth organization that has impacted 55,000+ students across 26 countries. We enable students to discover their passion, gain real-world experiences through experiential learning and start building sustainable careers. To date, we have worked with students from 1,800+ schools and educational institutions with the assistance and support of over 700+ teachers.
Throughout the years, we have been fortunate to collaborate with the Malaysian Ministry of Education, global educational partners such as Wharton Interactive, entrepreneur platforms such as ET Ideas Social Business Incubator, corporate & business leaders, global young changemakers and community builders to bring 100+ events, workshops and programs annually to students. Today our team is fully run by Gen Zs as young as 8 to 23 years old.

The Global Young Changemakers Competition (GYCC) targets students aged 10 to 12, facilitating their financial literacy journey through theoretical learning and immediate application via project-based activities. Spanning West and East Malaysia, this endeavor seeks to enhance financial and community awareness among the youth.

Teenage Entrepreneur Challenge 2024
The Teenage Entrepreneur Challenge (TEC) 2024 will engage 10 schools across three countries—Malaysia, Indonesia, and the USA. Over six months, students will conceptualize and execute their own social enterprises under the mentorship of industry experts and student entrepreneurs from Ivy League Universities. This initiative aims not only to generate revenue but also to deliver substantial community impact.

Students across Malaysia between the ages of 8 to 18 years old embark on a 6-month apprenticeship with Ascendance where they participate in various events and projects, allowing them to step out of their comfort zone, work together as a team, and expand their skill sets.

This workshop incorporated Wharton Interactive’s Alternate Reality Courseware for teenagers to learn and apply fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship and leadership through the Wharton Interactive simulation games and modules.

Bringing together the brightest undergraduate students from across the world, this incubator will establish student run startups focussing on contributing towards United Nation’s SDGs. With workshops conducted by Industry Experts and mentorship by Top Executives, Masters and Doctorate Students, this experience will strive to solve world problems with entrepreneurship.

Stages of Student Development with Ascendance
STAGE 1
AWARENESS AND EXPOSURE
A student will begin their journey with Ascendance by participating in one of our 100+ events ranging from mini-mentorship sessions by C-Suite executives, leadership and capacity-building workshops, global conferences, student-led talk shows and interest clubs. Through these events, students will begin to increase their awareness of the world, understand the workings of their mind and learn about the various opportunities available for them to explore.
STAGE 2
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
The students who wish to continue their learning journey will embark on the personal development stage. Here we will build their capacity and enhance their leadership and communication skills. Students will begin to take action towards their goals in all areas of life while developing their skills and abilities. They will be given opportunities to explore fields of their interests in a more hands on manner.

STARTUP AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
As they begin to develop themselves, students who exhibit potential will be selected to be mentored by the Ascendance team and the associated entrepreneurs & corporate leaders. Students will be guided to develop their own social enterprises from an idea to a self-sustaining enterprise. These students will bring about change not only in their lives but also in the lives of their communities.
